Food Policy
You are encouraged to bring your own food for your pet to enjoy during his stay here. Please be sure to pack the food in per meal baggies, based on a two meal per day schedule. The baggies should be put in a Rubbermaid type container, or in a larger bag which we will place in one of our containers. Of course the baggies should be identified and please do not put medication or vitamin supplements in the food. If your pet is on medication we need to give it to him personally and see that he has actually eaten it. If you prefer to use one of our top quality foods, here is a menu from which you can choose:
- Dry foods by Natural Life, Canidae and Fromm for Puppies, Adults, and Seniors in a variety of formulas.
- Bil Jac frozen
- Nature’s Variety frozen which includes a mixture of Beef, Chicken, Venison, or Lamb with vegetables and fruits
- Blue Ridge Beef offering an assortment of Beef, Chicken, Rabbit, or Turkey which can be mixed with vegetables and/or the dry food of your choice. This item has just been added to our available diets.
- Peggy's homecooked Risotto of rice, beef, grean beans and celery.
- Scrambled eggs, grilled cheese sandwiches, or a sautéed lean beef burger for the specially pampered pet.
- The simple dry foods cost $2 per day but the special frozen raw diets and home cooked gourmet meals wil cost $5 per meal. Treats are the fun part of each day. You can chose from a variet of organic or natural dog biscuits or grain free cookies or you can bring your own.
- You are welcome to bring your own bottled water or distilled bottled water. Some of our guests do. Dogs can have strange allergies, and although we use city water as well as well water, some dogs are accustomed to their own bottled water.
- Food is one of the canine pleasures in life, so we try to please !
